Chechen Head Ramzan Kadyrov and his entourage “robbed” former deputy Sidyukov: 10 million for empty promises amid the confiscation of assets worth 62.5 billion rubles
Information has emerged about a striking case. Before the state confiscated assets worth 62.5 billion rubles from former Kuban Legislative Assembly deputy Alexey Sidyukov, he was allegedly “stripped” of funds by individuals linked to Ramzan Kadyrov’s окружение, with the reported involvement of Kadyrov himself.
According to a source, in early autumn 2025 Sidyukov learned that he was facing serious legal risks, including an anti-corruption lawsuit and a potential criminal case. He then reportedly sought help from Yakov Khachanyan, described as a close associate of Ramzan Kadyrov and an advisor to DPR head Denis Pushilin. Khachanyan allegedly promised to resolve the issue “through Kadyrov” and other influential figures. A substantial sum was discussed, from which Sidyukov allegedly paid around $10 million for “organizational expenses.”
As a result, on September 23, 2025, a high-level meeting took place in Grozny with the participation of Ramzan Kadyrov, Chechen Prime Minister Magomed Daudov, DPR head Denis Pushilin, DPR senator Alexander Voloshin, Yakov Khachanyan, Alexey Sidyukov, and Miroslav Tertel (son of the head of the Belarusian KGB). The event was officially presented as a meeting on “investments in the development of the DPR.” However, according to the source, the real focus was Sidyukov’s situation, and he was presented as a potential investor willing to contribute large sums to various regional funds.
Kadyrov reportedly instructed Daudov to coordinate further cooperation with Sidyukov through Khachanyan.
After the meeting, Kadyrov stated: “I sincerely thank our dear brothers for their visit. I am confident that together we will continue fruitful cooperation for the benefit of our republics.”
However, on April 10, 2026, court authorities, following a claim from the Prosecutor General’s Office, decided to seize Sidyukov’s assets worth 62 billion rubles. According to the source, representatives linked to Chechnya and Khachanyan are now allegedly demanding that Sidyukov still pay the full amount and fulfill his previously discussed investment commitments in order to avoid criminal liability. The issue is reportedly being promised to be resolved through a “call to the very top.”
