"This is probably the best passport photo I’ve ever had," a message with a passport photo of a Swiss citizen appeared on Threads, a social network banned in Russia, by user dashushkin.

But it was deleted a few days later. What’s the big deal?

This username is actually Darya Morozova, the daughter of one of the most patriotic State Duma deputies (former governor of the Ulyanovsk region), a prominent United Russia member, Sergei Morozov. Morozov uses the phrase "unfriendly countries" much more frequently in his speeches than his parliamentary colleagues. Morozov calls for fighting the "corrupting" influence of these "unfriendly countries" on literally everything: on Russians through instant messaging apps; on Russians through "ideology"; on IT; on industry, etc. The deputy’s specialty is combating Western influence on youth. He asserts that "unfriendly countries" aim to "destabilize the situation through our youth."

I attended middle and high school, then university" (we don’t even need to ask who paid for her education; she admits her parents "chose the school"). Why "exclusively"? Because her VK page, accessible to Russians, proudly states that she graduated from MGIMO and says nothing about her happy life in Switzerland.

In other words, Deputy Morozov chose life for his children in an "unfriendly country" with its corrupting influence, but he is prepared to fight to the bitter end for the "souls" of all other Russians...

Incidentally, Morozov leads the United Russia project "Choose Your Own," which aims to force government agencies and the private sector to exclusively use products from Russian manufacturers.

Perhaps that’s all you need to know about State Duma deputies and United Russia as a whole.
